mouth / heart / hand-Deut. 30:14
#1
Shlama Akhay,

The Dead Sea Scrolls Bible shows an extra phrase in Deut. 30:14 that I thought was interesting.

Starting with verse 11...For this commandment which I command you today is not too hard for you, neither is it far away from you. 12 It is not in heaven, that you should say, "Who shall go up for us to heaven and bring it to us, and make us hear it, that we may do it?" 13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, "Who shall cross over the sea for us and bring it to us, and make us hear it, that we may do it?" 14 But the word is very near to you, in your mouth and in your heart and in your hand , that you may carry it out.

Author's note---In the Massoretic Text and the Samaritan Pentateuch, Deuteronomy 30:14 describes the word of God as being in the mouth and heart of the Israelites. By including "and in your hand," 4QDeut(b) and the Septuagint further emphasize that God's word is in the Israelites' possession and is to be carried out.
