Here's the normal process I use. It's either one of two methods where I "stumble" upon one of these examples. Either:
(a) I'm using a critical edition of the Greek NT that lists variants, or
(b) I'm translating the interlinear Aramaic NT here, and I run across a word that has either dual meaning, or looks similar to another word
In the case of (a): If I find that there are two readings split up fairly evenly among the various Greek textual traditions, then I look up the word used in the Peshitta. One of two things is going to happen. Either this variance can be explained within the Greek (perhaps the Greek words looked similar), or in the case where the Greek words are totally different chances are good that the Aramaic word used in the Peshitta either has a dual meaning, or looks similar enough to another Aramaic then we have the solution.
In the case of (b): If I know the Aramaic word has a dual meaning, or looks similar to another Aramaic word while I'm translating, then I'll go look up the critical Greek text to see if any scribal errors occurred. That's how I found Acts 2:24
So yes, there are lots of examples that are found very easily, however the process itself is very time consuming and meticulous.
