Matthew 23:29-31
#1
Shlama Akhay,

There is a remarkable play on roots in Matthew 23:29-31:

Quote:Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build ("bna") the tombs of the prophets, and you adorn the sepulchres of the righteous; and you say "If we had been in the days of our forefathers, we would not have been participants with them in the blood of the prophets." Whereby you witness against yourself, that you are the sons ("bna") of those who killed the prophets.

Nice one Akhi,

Its interesting to see the choice of words by Mattai for "sons" considering "bareh" could have been used but the play would have been lost!
