Question on 1 Tim.3:16
#8
Thirdwoe Wrote:The KJV translators translated what is found there in the Greek text that they were translating from, which has the word "Theos" (God), rather than the word "Hos" (He who/which) or simply (who/which).

This is a variant in the Greek NT text, which the majority of Greek Manuscripts show "Theos", and the minority shows "Hos". The older copies may be said to have the "Hos" reading, but I would have to check that 1st to be certain, but it's my suspicion at the moment. If so, the Eastern Peshitta text would then show the older form, where it at time doesn't have the Greek "Byzantine" reading, where a variant exists among the Greek "Alexandrian" reading, which it at times shows.

And just to note: Our Father isn't upset if we type the letter "o" between the "G" and the "d" of the title "God", just like He isn't upset if we spell out the word "Alaha", using the vowels.

Shlama,
Chuck

Thanks for your response sir. Thanks for the information.

The G-d thing is a personal thing for me.
