List of Aramaic Peshitta Tanakh Books (Buchanan Bible)
#1
Hello Everyone,
I am posting this information as a favor to someone who wanted it.

We all know that Aramaic Peshitta Tanakh (in Codex Ambrosianus) go from Book "Genesis" to Josephus's Jewish Wars Book Six which describes about the fall of Jerusalem and extraordinary incidents that happened during the fall of Jerusalem.

Here is the list of Peshitta Tanakh books which came from Kerala, India in 1800s. This is popularly known as "Buchanan Bible."

"The Buchanan Bible (Camb. Univ. Lib. Oo. I. I, 2) is a Pandect bound in two volumes which was brought up from the Malabar Coast at the beginning of the present (nineteenth century) by Dr. Claudius Buchanan.

It contains the following books of the Old Testament in the order given : - Pentateuch, Job, Joshua, Judges, I Samuel, II Samuel, Psalms, I Kings, II Kings (the order of books thus far being that of Codex Ambrosianus), 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Canticles, Sirach, Isaiah, Jeremiah (with Lamentations, I Epistle of Baruch, II Epistle of Baruch, and Epistle of Jeremiah), Ezekiel, 12 minor prophets (Jonah, Nahum, etc.), Daniel (with Bel and Dragon), Ruth, Susanna, Esther, Judith, Ezra-Nehemiah, Wisdom (of Solomon), I Maccabees, II Maccabees, III Maccabees, IV Maccabees, Esdras, and Tobit.

The New Testament follows, the Apocalypse being left out and the four Minor Catholic Epistles being given in a group by themselves. Though this Manuscript was brought from India, we have reason to believe that its birthplace was near Syria. It is written in a Jacobite serta probably of 12th century."

This information is from Book "An apparatus criticus to Chronicles in the Peshitta Version"by W. E. Barnes published in 1897

Unlike Codex Ambrosianus, This Peshitta Tanakh contains Tobit.

Unfortunately, I don't know where to get Buchanan Bible.

But you can get Peshitta Tanakh (only 39 books) from below link. I don't remember the person who posted this link. But I would like to thank this person for posting the link to access Peshitta Tanakh.

"New" stands for Modern Aramaic version for Modern Aramaic Speakers.

Files without "new" are the original Peshitta Tanakh completed in first century AD with one exception - Peshitta Tanakh in first century Ad did not have vowel markings. So you can disregard the vowel markings.

Below contains all of Peshitta Tanakh books with the exception of Tobit.

Aramaic version of Tobit is available here.

1 Maccabees - 4 Maccabees are important, because Jesus was in the temple during Feast of Rededication (Hanukkah) in John 10.

It says that the server is currently down but the text is available.
Do you know copy of what is the text or it is critical edition (as it is now fashionable
in the modern world)?

I don't know which one it is since I haven't got a chance to explore too much into this Peshitta Tanakh. Unlike Peshitta and Peshitto, Peshitta Tanakh used in East Aramaic regions and West Aramaic regions agree with each other.
