Yes, it's not in the peshitta. You can find an interlinear Aramaic/english peshitta version of Johns gospel on this site. <!-- sSmile --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smile.gif" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /><!-- sSmile -->

According to the "Apostolic Father" Papias (II century) the story of the woman taken in adultery, is from the Gospel of the Hebrews. The problem is that was a few so called "Gospel of the Hebrews" (or "Gospel according to the Hebrews")

Not cessearily the end of chapt 7, ends with the same word of 8:12.

So, an early writer a copyist, could have mist a part (since they started with scrolls, not with books) while there already was a Greek translation before the specific copy of the peshitta was made.

G.D. Bauscher has in his translation, an appendix written in DSS font, which makes this theory plausible.

In is not in Codex Vaticanus either. Codex Vaticanus (Fourth Century) is probably the oldest known almost complete Greek Bible. It is the principal basis of the Critical Greek Text of the New Testemant.
