If a biblical "day" starts at sunset, then...

Not sure if I understand you correctly, but I was taught that a "day" starts at "erew" and then "boker" follows, as in Bereshit 1:5. Night is when there is no light, again beginning of Parsha Bereshit. Just trying to understand your question ...
