Hello,
I'm not sure if there is a place where John the Baptist says that, but Paul says something similar in Hebrews 13:5, whereby we should be content with what we have and not love money. I would think that being content with what you have would include your salary, if that is what you have.
I haven't had a chance to see how the Aramaic reads since I'm here at work but maybe someone else can expound on that (or I'll just add it later).
