Ambrosiano Codex

BenEfraym Wrote:Shalom Chaverim!

But the first testament was not written in Hebrew? The Codex Ambrosiano (OT Peshitta) is more accurate than the version written in Hebrew?
I do not understand the question.

Tanx

Shalom Chaver! (This hebrew word also is in Amsterdam slang still existing as a witness to the Jewish population in the past)

Of course it was written in Hebrew. However, todays Bibles tend to be 'critical editions' and not just a translation of one source.
If you take the Hebrew which is from the karaites who preserved it, it is from the 10th century. The Amrosiano/Targum and Septuagint are interesting sources to compare with because all those sources often older than the 10th century, have their own qualities.
