Doctrinal differences : ACOE - RCC ?
#23
Phil Wrote:Shlama Akhi Paul,

I did some research on that quotation, as I was curious about it. So I take a look at the Synodicon Orientale (here) and look for texts refering to year 612. I can read a little of french and aramaic, and on page 564 there is an aramaic text which can be the source of that quotation (french translation here).

I hope this help.

Just a note: users outside USA will need a proxy to access those links on google books.

Shlama Akhi Phil,

The original Aramaic is "We believe in one Kyana Alahaya (Divine Nature)", not as our now-banned friend Michael contented in his Google Translate hack .... "We believe in One Divine Being."

Although there is of course nothing wrong with "We believe in One God", as all Christians believe, there is a problem with how he tried to use this false translation of his to somehow insinuate that we have a different creed now, than in 612.

Of course the creed of 612 states that there are no "parts" to the kyana Alahaya (Divine Nature), it actually goes on to explain the orthodox position of the CoE in regards to Qnuma, which is where we define the concept we have of the "Trinity." It is a treatise on Christology.

These types of falsehoods and purposeful misrepresentations will not be allowed on this forum, especially not by some supposed German in England trying to teach us about our own church history. It is extremely offensive.
