Dear Paul,
My dear Brother.
I beg you to revisit the past with me.
When I first became convinced that The Assyrian Church of the East was the real true survival of the original Nazarenes (or the first Jewish Christians) in 1989, I started borrowing every book that I could find about The Holy Apostolic and Catholic Assyrian Church of the East.
I borrowed so many books from our Public Library that the folks who worked at the Library asked me if I was "writing a book".
But you know the thing that I recall the most from those books?
Survival. The Assyrian COE was a Church THAT SURVIVED.
It survived what the Portugese Roman Catholics did in In India (in Kerala), it survived the Arab Muslim onslaught in it's own 'home port' of Iraq and Iran.
It hid the Holy Scriptures (the P'shitta NT) from those who would destroy even Christ's OWN WORDS, to where in India, there was only ONE COPY HIDDEN that actually SURVIVED.
But don't ya see my dear friend Paul, that the Scriptures DID SURVIVE and the Spirit of the Church cannot EVER be killed, only fools would think that the COE would die so easily!
Nor will it be immersed into Roman Catholicism because there ARE PEOPLE LIKE *YOU*.
Messiah lives within this ancient Church of the East, and they tried to kill Him once, and it didn't suceed THEN, and it WON'T suceed NOW!
I'm just on the outside looking IN.........but YOU, your on THE INSIDE of this ancient Assyrian Church of the East.
I can feel it in your writings, I can feel it when you get righteously upset, I can feel it when your proud of your heritage, YOUR A SURVIVOR TOO!!
And your right, these guys ARE "snakes", just as you said they are/were.
But what's a snake, to an Assyrian Eagle? ;-)
