Some Additional Wordplays in Revelation
144,000 Virgins as Female Sheep
In Revelation 14:4, the prophecy describes 144,000 virgins. The Aramaic text implies these 144,000 are female because they have not ?rubbed? ( attuShu) with ?man? (nSha). Well, here is an Aramaic wordplay that further confirms these 144,000 virgins are female ? the text says these virgins ?will follow? (nqpuhy) the lamb everywhere he goes. This phrase nqphuy is likely a word play of nqya, meaning a female sheep called a ewe.

Fury of the Mother-in-Law
Revelation 14:8, ?Babel the great has fallen, has fallen, she who gave all the nations to drink of the fury (KhmTha) of her fornication.? And Revelation 17:5, ?And on her forehead it was written, ?Mystery, Babylon the great, mother of harlots and of pollutions of the earth.?
It?s interesting that the Aramaic word translated as ?fury? (KhmTha) in the Book of Revelation can also be translated ?mother-in-law?. Perhaps there is a bit of comedy here as the recipient of the fury is the mother of harlots, thus analyzable as a classic feud: mother versus mother-in-law.
Here?s a jagged little pill from (second?) pope Joseph Ratzinger, ?It must be always clear that the one, holy, catholic and apostolic universal church is not the sister, but the mother of all the churches.?
Wordplay of Mark and Name
Revelation 14:11, ?And they will not have relief day or night those who were worshipping the creature and his image and who took the mark of his name.?
Note the wordplay between ?mark? (ruShma) and ?name? (Shma).
I wonder whether it is a coincidence that in Aramaic gematria (aleph = 1, bet =2? tav =22), the ending phrase in Revelation 14:11 ?of his name? (dShmh) is equal to 53, the same number for the messiah?s name, yShuEa. Perhaps it is a clue that the mark of the creature is an illegitimate copycat of Yahshua?s name?
Here?s another potential clue: in Aramaic, ?mark? (ruShma) totals 61. Another name that totals 61 is Arthur (aleph-resh-tet-hey-vav-resh), as in King Arthur ? the legendary one expected by the self-proclaimed ?lost tribes of Israel? as their messiah, as they claim lineage to Yahshua. So ?mark? and ?Arthur? total 61, and another word totaling 61 in Aramaic is ?dragon? (tav-nun-yod-nun-aleph).
Many people, including myself, consider Prince William of Wales to be the leading candidate for the ?little horn? described in the Book of Daniel and the Book of Revelation, and that after William is crowned his name will eventually and somehow change to Arthur. I realize this may sound fantastic at first (perhaps that?s part of the unfolding saga); all I can do is point people with open minds to the Titanic boatload of evidence in support of this greater theory ? here is the tip of the iceberg that William may be destined to crash into, a quote from the late princess Diana ?I believe Wills can rebuild Camelot and I will be his Merlin. We will return to the chivalry, pageantry and glory of King Arthur's court. William will re-make the Monarchy by showing love, leadership and compassion." Another nice trail marker is William's coat of arms, an offspring of Prince Charles' coat of arms. The latter has a unicorn ("little horn") chained to a red dragon and a quote below that image, "I serve" (ich dien). If the self-proclaimed royals' coronation and investiture ceremonies are any guide, it bears mentioning that standing up from her dragon-adored throne, Queen Elizabeth gave Charles regalia with a dragon featured on the rod, ring and sword. Charles then says, ""I, Charles, Prince of Wales, do become your liege man of life and limb and of earthly worship and faith and truth I will bear unto you to live and die against all manner of folks." Read all about it in the popular book by Tim Cohen at pages 198-204 (side note for researchers: an often misquoted section of this book claims the queen said, 'This dragon gives you your power, your throne, and your authority'. But Cohen didn't write that, and I never found such a quote after a long search of books and videos). Anyway, there's a ton of evidence about William as the possible 'little horn' of Revelation and Daniel, so check it out if you're inclined: my thesis on the Book of Revelation, section XVII.A.3, or Grail Code by Clinton Ortiz.
I should probably also mention that, like ?dragon?, my last name ?Glaser? also totals 61, so that?s a bit unsettling for me as a numbers researcher, but there are also several nice Aramaic words that total sixty one, such as ?law? (puqdna) from Matthew 5:19, and ?lampstands? (mnrn) from Revelation 11:4. I'll venture that when words occupy the same number, it can evidence not only interesting forms of connection (dichotomies, alliances, logical relevance) but also choice among the options for people interacting with those words/numbers.
The Departed Flock
Revelation 14:13, ?Write, Blessed are the dead who depart in our lord from now on. Yes, says the spirit, because they will rest from their labors.?
Note the wordplay here between the word ?depart? (Eand) and the word ?flock? (Eana). This would not seem to be a wordplay because it is only two letters, but the text says the flock/departed are ?in their lord? (bmrn), so there is a logical corollary here that can at least provide a helpful theological reminder ? the blessed who depart in the lord are part of his flock.
Revelation 14 and the Vineyard in Matthew
Revelation 14:18, ?And another angel came out from the altar, who had authority over fire and cried out with a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle. Send your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of the vineyard of the earth, because of the ripeness of her grapes.?
The Aramaic word for ?clusters? (sgula) is probably a play on the word for worshipper (sguda), because this Chapter 14 is about the dichotomy of worshipping the false authority Satan or alternatively our Creator.
