1co7:14 0rbg split word? - peshitta_enthusiast - 11-07-2004

Hi guys, I was wondering if the 0rbg scenario has any implications on the variant in 1co7:14 where the Byzantine texts say husband and the Alexandrian say brother.

Anyone willing to add "brother" to the very vague definitions of 0rbg? If so, we have yet another split word which divides the Greek of Alex and Byz.

Regards,

Chris

Shlama Akhi Chris,

I've been looking around for 'brother ' as an alternate or extended meaning for 'gabra' and I can't seem to find anything. Perhaps 'believing husband' and 'Christian brother' were somehow put on a par with one another and two different traditions emerged. I think I better choose the neutral emoticon for the end of this post. <!-- s:| --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/neutral.gif" alt=":|" title="Neutral" /><!-- s:| -->

Shlama!
Why are you placing these things here... instead of the "mistranslation..."?

Because I dunno about these yet, first I ask. With confirmation, I pretty them up for proper posting on forums and publishing.

Chris
