Titus
#1
Are there any Aramaic proofs for the book of Titus? I noticed that from the entire 22 book Peshitta canon, we have proofs for ALL, except Titus (and even proofs for Revelation of the Western 5).

I notice a lot of conjunction usage in Titus, which can be seen as Semitic, but are there any split words, mistranslations, poetry, wordplays etc? I know Titus is small, but so is Philemon (even smaller) and that letter is absolutely overflowing with proofs.

I think there are some potential markers of translation in Titus. I haven???t really looked for idioms or syntax yet (besides the conjunction usage) but here are some ideas:

2:8and2:10 Greek variants for us/youse and our/your. Could this be due to Aramaic ambiguity?

3:9 ??? contention/contentions variant. Due to lack of plural markings in the Aramaic?

2:5 ??? a potential ???split word???. Many Greek say ???workers??? many say ???keepers???. From the lexicon I get the vibe that Jdb9t4mw can have both meanings ??? to make work to make it a nice home, and to keep it that way. Feel free to shoot this one down, because the Greek words are only 1 letter difference???

Quote:3:9 – contention/contentions variant. Due to lack of plural markings in the Aramaic?

Yeah...that looks kinda susicious. žreiv- (strifes) versus žrin- (strife)

Quote:2:5 – a potential “split word”. Many Greek say “workers” many say “keepers”. From the lexicon I get the vibe that Jdb9t4mw can have both meanings – to make work to make it a nice home, and to keep it that way. Feel free to shoot this one down, because the Greek words are only 1 letter difference…

That could be called a copyist error with considerably more ease than the point you made above.

Titus has proofs after all, this contradiction was generously supplied by Peshitta primacist author, Andrew Roth:
