This is TERRIFIC. I vote YES !

It would be great if you did more!

YOUR VOICE IS PERFECTLY CLEAR !!!!! I can't imagine a better voice.

Shamasha,

I like the idea of sound being added, but my only critisism (which is only meant to be constructive) would be that it needs to flow better. Maybe there should be the option of listening to each verse individually, but also listening to each chapter as a whole. Otherwise, very good!

Peace,

-Nimrod Warda-
p.s. Maybe ask Qasha Antwan to help with the recordings!?!

Shlama everyone,

I am new to this forum but it is because of finding this forum my faith has been strengthened by learning about the Peshitta. MarYa bless you Paul. I think it would be wonderful to hear the Gospel read by a Native speaker. Your narration was great. I was using the interlinear NT until I purchased Andrews peshitta translation last year and the audios would be a huge help.

Shlama Akhay,

Whoa - how was this thread resurrected from five years ago?

Nimrod I like your idea that Qasha Antwan do the recordings, I think he has the best voice in the CoE hands down. Question is, who's going to ask him? He's probably the busiest man I know.

I've been going through all the posts sinced I joined from that fist to the last, I'm on page 13 now of the general section, in order to have a good understanding of the history of the forum and its working and I also want to make sure I can learn as much as I possibly can about everything to do with the Peshitta and the CoE so I don't want to miss anything posted, I have already learned alot, I once asked my wife, how is it that our religion was originated in the middle east, by semetic people, and since the 4th cent has been dominated by western people and thinking? I said, there must be some great witness in the middle east, I cannot accept that Our Lords words found place only west of Israel!

I am 100% for a recording of Peshitta. I think I have seen you Paul express concerns elsewhere about the language dying, it would be good to preserve in audio native speakers for posterity. With my Arabic I think I come close, but hearing your recording teaches me much more about the language, and I have a long way to go.

In the meantime I listen closely to the Holy Qurbana I bought from Aramaicbooks and I found Mar Eshai's "blue book" online, in which he gives a transliteration and translation of some of your liturgy, so I can follow what I am listening to. What a blessing such material is.

There is a recording available of the Gospel of Mark in Modern Assyrian on Aramaicbible.org, it sounds very good to me and genuine, I recognized a similarity between how you pronounce certain letters and them also (particularly the H)

I am using a Mac and I am unable to listen to the audio. I clicked on the number but for some reason no audio came out.

Hi All,

Lets resurrect this topic again.
I remember there were some links to recordings of the ancient Peshitta pronounciation (not modern Aramaic) somewhere online. I just want some mp3s on my mobile to learn to listen to the language.

Is there such a link?

Whoops! It all sounds Greek to me (i.e.- a foreign language). My bad, but it did say Aramaic?
