Whoa - how was this thread resurrected from five years ago? <!-- sSmile --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smile.gif" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /><!-- sSmile -->

Nimrod I like your idea that Qasha Antwan do the recordings, I think he has the best voice in the CoE hands down. Question is, who's going to ask him? He's probably the busiest man I know.

I've been going through all the posts sinced I joined from that fist to the last, I'm on page 13 now of the general section, in order to have a good understanding of the history of the forum and its working and I also want to make sure I can learn as much as I possibly can about everything to do with the Peshitta and the CoE so I don't want to miss anything posted, I have already learned alot, I once asked my wife, how is it that our religion was originated in the middle east, by semetic people, and since the 4th cent has been dominated by western people and thinking? I said, there must be some great witness in the middle east, I cannot accept that Our Lords words found place only west of Israel!

I am 100% for a recording of Peshitta. I think I have seen you Paul express concerns elsewhere about the language dying, it would be good to preserve in audio native speakers for posterity. With my Arabic I think I come close, but hearing your recording teaches me much more about the language, and I have a long way to go.

In the meantime I listen closely to the Holy Qurbana I bought from Aramaicbooks and I found Mar Eshai's "blue book" online, in which he gives a transliteration and translation of some of your liturgy, so I can follow what I am listening to. What a blessing such material is.

There is a recording available of the Gospel of Mark in Modern Assyrian on Aramaicbible.org, it sounds very good to me and genuine, I recognized a similarity between how you pronounce certain letters and them also (particularly the H)
