Aramaic Primacy WIKI Update
#1
I currently have a working model of the XML parsing system, which will allow full HTML support with specialized tags for Ancient Languages (via the FontScript Engine) and Biblical verse lookups.

I'll see if I can get a Beta up and running by the end of next week :-)

Well, a lot has occurred in terms of programming and site design. I have renamed it to "The Aramaic XIKI" (instead of Wiki, for reasons you will see in the following screenshots):

More updates I as code them! :-)

I am almost finished with the XIKI Beta and will be posting it soon at:

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.AramaicNT.org/XIKI">http://www.AramaicNT.org/XIKI</a><!-- m -->

The only additional features that I need to implement thusfar are:

1) Deleting nodes (this is a cakewalk <!-- sWink --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/wink1.gif" alt="Wink" title="Wink" /><!-- sWink --> ).

2) A simple change tracker, which will note which users changed which pages at what times and for what reasons.

3) A Preferences panel so that the users can fiddle with their FontScript cookies and viewing options.

4) Tutorials on how to use the XIKI, including the Aramaic and Greek transliterations, advanced HTML tags, etc.

Right now I'm going to need to know who wants to be involved, and what sections they want to contribute. First and fore-mostly, I would like to get several nodes up and running (and as a result will need volunteers who will help with their genesis):

1) Aramaic Tutorial - Something basic, but complete.

2) Primacy Proofs - Let's make an EXHAUSTIVE list grouped by Book. <!-- sSmile --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smile.gif" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /><!-- sSmile -->

All those participating will have to send me an email with their desired username, password, and a short bio (as I'm going to have a node dedicated to who describe who is working on the project). If you want to start a specialized node, give me a rough idea of what it is about, as well as which users you would like to have editing access with you.

Paul: I'm having some difficulties with the XML parser you have installed on the server. It has never given me any trouble before, but as of late with the XIKI it's giving me a "reference to binary entity" error on the last line of every XML page I'm feeding it when no binary entity exists (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.AramaicNT.org/XIKI">http://www.AramaicNT.org/XIKI</a><!-- m -->).

I'm honestly baffled as to why it's giving me this error, as it works completely fine on my machine.

You didn't upload a binary file to the server in Ascii mode, by chance?

~Shakes head~ All of the files are ASCII. Just some plain XML and PHP code, the same way I have with the rest of the site.

The line 39 refers to line 39 in index.xml (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.AramaicNT.org/XIKI/XML/index.xml">http://www.AramaicNT.org/XIKI/XML/index.xml</a><!-- m -->), the last line of the file. No matter what I do, the error always comes at the last line of the file.

shlomo oh Steve,

When I wrote code, usually I use Notepad. Sometimes when you save the file as Unicode, it creats problems, so maybe try to save as ANSI and see what happens.

In frustration, I decided to comment the line of code that complains about XML parsing errors, and as a result it suddenly started working!

In other words: The XIKI is up and working!

Now, what do we want to do with it?
