Shlama Akhi Abudar,

A great article - but something in it is very incorrect. Before the Portuguese invasion introduced Roman Catholicism - the Christians in India were 100% Church of the East. There was adherence to the Patriarch of Antioch (Jacobite) until after Tamerlane nearly wiped out the Church of the East. Then when the Portuguese arrived, the people were lost to the Patriarch in Babylon and most of them became Catholics. Those who refused to become Catholics changed to Jacobite (Antioch.) But there were some who continued to be CoE, until even today.

The Church of the East was from the Persian border eastward - the Patriarchate of Antioch never went east of the Persian border until after the massacres of Tamerlane in the 13th-14th century.
