Latin Vulgate
#3
It was said at another forum. His exact quote regarding the Catholic church and the Latin Vulgate was:

We dont' interpret scripture, for it has already been interpreted by the church for us. We are not scholars and theologians, therefore we do not have the right to attempt to interpret scripture. Self interpretation of scripture is a sin, and very dangerous. That is what the protestants did, and that is what led them away from the church and the true bible, the latin vulgate. If you want to know what a scripture passage means, find out what the church teaches about it. That's all there is to it.

I would assume the church would be getting their interpretations using the Latin Vulgate.
