sheol ghenna and hades
#1
I came across this one whilst in another discussion the other day.
Luke chapter 12:5 Jesus warns about being thrown into "ghenna" .This is translated as hades.
In Luke 16:23 the rich man is in "sheol"
This too is translated as hades.

Two different aramaic words became one greek word.

Shlama Michael,

I read "gehenna" in Luke 12:5, not "Hades".All Greek texts
apparently have "gehenna".
