1 Corinthians 8:6
#61
Dear drmlanc & Dave,

It is better for you guys to settle this privately as I am afraid that Paul Younan might delete this thread if you guys continue with your arguments that is not related to the title of this thread.

To gain respect from the Christian world out there, this forum needs to be known for scholarly discussion of the Aramaic New Testament instead of being contentious in nature.

Please refrain from calling "trinity" pagan, Hebrew Tanakh not the original, ridiculing Greek NT, etc as you guys are only giving free ammunitions for the muslims to attack Christians and also turning the Christians out there away from embracing the Peshitta NT.

Truth needs to be told wisely.

Unnecessary attacks on the Bible or doctrines will only give you a backlash from others and this is not good as it might sabotage the works of Paul Younan. Rejectors of Aramaic Gospels might cite examples of your hostility towards certain doctrines as a reason why they should reject the works of Paul Younan as they might mistaken you or others in this forum as one of the contributors to this great work.

If the majority of the contributors of this forum continue with unnecessarily hostililty towards the Greek NT or Massoretic Tanakh, then I am afraid that it will only create a backlash. Soon, there will be a site dedicated to refute this site and it will turn a lot of people away from Peshitta.

When you translate the Scriptures, you ought not to let doctrinal bias influence your translation. Be true to the grammar, syntax and the idiom of the passage and you will be fine.

Thanks.

Don't dare say that to me as I have constantly asked Dave for that and he constantly refused. And I made a promise anyway. So it should all be one-way traffic from now on.

Well I wish I could call you my brother there buddy, but things have proven otherwise here lately.

I hope I haven't turned this into a doctrinal issue, as that was not my intent here with Chris. I was merely at ease now with Chris and his issues he would post from time to time. That rest came from the knowledge that I was not dealing with one who seen the bible as I would experience, unveiled. He has never accepted Jesus into his heart to have His life and thought, thus I understood the issues that he would post from now on. I guess my honesty in this led to him feeling exposed.

I want to apologize to anyone that I may have offended here unintentionally. I wasn't trying to make Chris out to be bad, I was just stating how I understood him now. This was the same thing that Condor had mistakenly did and it cost him later on. Condors Christianity was one of the mind, not the heart. It lacked any born again experience, so nothing would happen when he prayed for people. He never figured it out. Eventually, he turned completely from GOD and now blasphemes Him on a regular basis.

Anyways, I know Chris is distraunt over this and mad over me exposing this to people. No one would be happy to be exposed anyways. I hope this gives insight to Rev Dave and others who may have wondered about Chris and his doctrinal issues and pressed in on him at times.

Gentlemen,

I certainly second Dan Gan's emotion and thoughts on this. The discussions should not become personal attacks. If one suspects another is unsaved or unregenerate , he should pray that The Spirit and truth will reveal it. This forum is not the one for personal evangelism.
As far as being born again is concerned, I find the truth and salvation of God are given me as armor and the word as a sword.
If I am offended personally by words others use against me, I need to search myself to see why I am offended.

Ps 119:165 Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

7 ?? Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
14 ?? And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
1 John 4:7-16

I have also been very disturbed by attacks on the Hebrew Bible (Massoretic) and slurs on a text here and there with which I take issue. I love the word of God, and when I read things like "The Massoretic text is junk" , or words to that effect, I get sick to my stomach. That is not the spirit I received from Jesus Christ.
I was saved by hearing an Old Testament verse translated from the traditional Hebrew text read in a funeral service and the Gospel message afterward.
I would fear for myself if I ever were to disparage a Bible text in any language that was honestly copied and translated. I have yet
to see evidence that The Hebrew OT was not. There are errors in every manuscript and text, and perhaps some few are deliberate, but I must believe in the integrity of the scriptures and their preservation because Jesus promised it to us, and if He broke that promise, we have no foundation for faith in Him , God or the gospel.
Ps 11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

'Nough for now.

In love with Him ,

Well you are yet another one who is saying so for no reason. I have no isse with that fellow anymore because for me he is non-existant. I will not talk with him anymore.

""If I am offended personally by words others use against me, I need to search myself to see why I am offended. ""

Yes I notice it too. When I talk with trinitarians and they disagree with my Jesus is the Father belief. I do not get offended, angry or upset. But when I disagree with their trinity belief you should see their reaction! Examine Paul, Dave and your own reactions when I said something against the trinity. Something to think about. It is similar to Paul's reaction when I exposed the COE's lack of Sabbath honouring (I ended up phoning them in Sydney to make sure). He got very upset when I was leading to that, becaue he KNOWS what Heb 4:9 says and he KNOWS that the COE couldn't give a stuff. People get upset when they cannot adequately defend their Church, their doctrines etc. It is the Bible that should defend such! I see the same kind of distraught with trinitarians. I have never seen a Oneness person like myself behave so. Maybe I was looking in the wrong places I don't know. If you want to discuss this with me in private Dave B you have only to email me! But I have learnt not to discuss it here with so many trinitarians about! The other oneness people here daren't say a word for fear of persecution, so I have learnt my lesson buddy <!-- sBig Grin --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/happy.gif" alt="Big Grin" title="Happy" /><!-- sBig Grin -->

As for the Massoretic, don't get upset, it is not the original. Simple as that. It is useful to use all the OT versions simultaneously to solve contradictions etc
