Original Jewish calendar
#1
Shalom all--

Thank you for your many condolence messages. I am doing a little better as tie goes on, but this post is not from me.

Steve Caruso asked me to post the following for him:

"I'm working on a reconstruction of the original Jewish calendar that was in effect in the times of Yeshu` based upon new moons and sunset times instead of the day standardization formulas set down (allegedly) by Hillel II in the 300's. It seems that Hillel's formula originally worked, but now (~1700 years later) it is out of sync with the moon cycles. With the margin of error his algorithm has, it might be off a day or two rewinding it back to the life of Yeshu` (an acceptable and easily corrected margin for my program), but does anyone know if there is a date that we can pin down to synchronize my model and the standard Jewish Calendar with the Biblical accounts in the Peshitta? More specifically, if we had an epoch to work from within the 19 year leap-cycle that we could nail down hard I could set my program (when finished) to generate calendars along with the dates of holidays and other events, all the way back up to and beyond present day in synch with the way our Messiah and his disciples would have kept time."

Chris (drmlanc) pointed me in your direction, remembering that you knew something concerning the "double-sabbath" in the passion/crucifixion timeline. I feel that this may be the epoch that I'm looking for. Do you know what I am referring to?

Shlomo d-Aloho `amokh u-`amah beythokh,
