What is the Aramaic understanding of the word "submit" as found in Ephesians 5:24 and Colossians 3:18?
The word in question in Ephesians 5:24 and Colossians 3:18 is in the CAL lexicon and is $(bd V which means:
091 JLAGal,JLATg,CPA,Sam to enslave
092 JLAGal to make serve
093 JLAGal to make subject
094 JBA w. %np$% to be responsible

123 JLATg,JBA w. b_ to subjugate!!

Can this word be understood as "to be pledged"? Should it be understood this way? Personally I like definition #121 above, Penny prefers #125. I'll bet Donna prefers #125 too.
Hope you guys had a Happy Thanksgiving,
Keith
