The NT was originally in Aramaic, not Greek. The huge majority of printed NTs are translated from Greek, which was translated from Aramaic. The transmission of Greek mss. was far worse than the Assyrian Church of the East's careful transmission of the Aramaic NT. The Greek manuscripts have many variants. There are over 200 textual variants in the 4 Gospels located at the places mentioned below. In many instances, the Aramaic and the by-A.D. 175 Diatesseron agree as to what the original renditions of various Gospel passages were:
