Theophilus, a possible clue for the writing of Luke and Acts
#3
Shalaamu (Shlama) Gregory,
Interesting conclusion. My current research on high priests drove me to him already (Theophilus Ben-Ananus/Annas of Scripture). However, I have another possible connection to this Theophilus: 3 Corinthians. This letter of the Corinthian church to Paul and Paul's response does not appear in Scripture (it is considered a pseudepigraphical work under the name of Paul). Whether it might be authentic or not I won't speculate, but it mentions a Theophilus among the Corinthian church elders/presbyters (3 Corinthians 1:1). Just something to consider.

Blessings and peace to you.
Shalaamu (Shlama)
