I have seen that this reading is quite usual when a quotation is given in the text. It seems to be a feature of the Aramaic NT. I'm not sure if it is universal in the Peshitta text, but I have come across it many many times.
Aye proclitic /d-/ is common across a number of diialects to introduce direct quotations, taking on a similar meaning to "that" (amar d-flan XYZ = "he said that so-and-so XYZ").
Thirdwoe Wrote:Also, I'm curious where the Khabouris text came from, that you used for that collation of Mark's Gospel?
On the collation page I eyeballed the first 8 verses.
With the full book I used Silver's transcription as put up on Dukhrana, re-encoded it to CAL encoding and put it into both the master file and a separate collation which is just the UBS and Khabouris together. The latter took about 7 minutes for the collation script to chew through, plus another minute to typeset; however, I haven't run the former as I'm still entering the Vatican, Sinai, and Harris CPA codices which have to be transcribed by hand.
