To me, this is terrible, and should never have been done the way it was done. Was it about money? He could have put his teachings online for free, and took the time he has been given, to bring forth an accurate and faithful translation of The Eastern Peshitta.

I think you're missing the point completely. You and Roth have two different visions here. What the AENT primarily is, is a Netzari Bible with Netzari commentary for the Netzari community. The updates have been mostly commentary based, based upon feedback from the Netzari community and what that community needs. Although there have been text revisions and corrections here and there, the goal has never been to have the English in perfect alignment with the corresponding Aramaic text, or vice versa. Roth's original plan was to put his teachings up for free, but he was responding to the needs of the community who wanted it as a study bible and were able to convince him of this when all the money was put up and there was clearly more than enough support. But as far as I understand it, this was not done for the Peshitta community. Hence, the two different visions here. But that's also why I think if it's put on someones heart to go through and help point out errors, they should do that so that the Body then can benefit as a whole.

But it is definitely not about money. Not at all. Andrew isn't the type who refuses to have a job and then beg for money every week as some do. The new editions are simply new with every printing; if you're going to do a subsequent printing, why not update it with more commentary and any text revisions that were brought your attention? This is no way requires people having to buy a new edition everytime it comes out. Only a very small select few do that, and they would be classified as die hard AENT supporters/fans. And having gone through all the updates myself, I can tell you that those are the only ones who would benefit from buying the new editions anyway. While the new editions are better, they are by no means essential if you have an older edition. Although, I will do an in-depth analysis of the 5th edition to let everyone know just how much it was updated this time, because I think this edition may have the most updates yet.
