Hebrews 1:6 is missing?
#3
Hey BenEfraym,

The Dead Sea Scroll 4QDeutq contains a clause similar to that present in the Greek translation (Septuagint) of Deuteronomy 32:43 ?Rejoice, O heavens, together with Him; and bow down to Him all you elohim, for He will avenge the blood of His sons? - Dead Sea Scroll 4QDeutq

The Septuagint reads "Rejoice, ye heavens, with Him, and let all the angels of Elohim worship Him." Deuteronomy 32:43

The oldest copy of the Hebrew text we can study today, lacks this phrase from Deuteronomy 32:43, as was present over 1000 years before the copy which lacks the words.

Also, the last line in Psalm 97:7 is similar to Deut 32:43, as seen in the Greek Septuagint translation which reads thus, ?...let all His angles worship Him.? And to this the Aramaic Peshitta translation of the Old Testament agrees, reading "...worship Him, all His angels." And furthermore, the Latin Vulgate agrees, reading "...Adore Him, all you His angels", while the Hebrew text has this reading "...worship him, all you elohim."

Chuck
