Heart in scriptures is equivalent to, as we call it today, mind.
The King James translation is a viable reading: 'be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine [[sing.]] heart.'
Here's another possible translation: 'be strong and your [[sing.]] heart will embolden.'
For a parallel reading, see Psalm 31:24(25), which is translated here by Lamsa and King James translators as 'he shall strengthen your [[pl.]] heart.'
Lamsa translates the Aramaic of Psalm 27:14, [font="Estrangelo (V1.1)"].0yrmb?wrbs?.Jwkbl?Lyxtnw?0yrmb?wrbs[/font], as "Trust in the Lord, and be of good courage; [yea,] trust in the Lord."
His translation dropped [font="Estrangelo (V1.1)"]Jwkbl[/font] (levkhun) 'your [[pl.]] heart.' Notice that this is plural possessive, though the Hebrew, Greek, and Latin are singular possessive.
If he had considered [font="Estrangelo (V1.1)"]Jwkbl[/font], the only viable translation would be comparable to 31:24(25) because of the inflection of [font="Estrangelo (V1.1)"]Jwkbl?Lyxtnw[/font], though a different verb is used in the two verses.
A strong or bold heart is as a resolute/secure mind. This is not always a positive thing; see Deuteronomy 2:30, 15:7, 2Chronicles 36:13.
