Mark 2:26 contradiction?
#1
hi guys not sure if this has been brought up before, but is there a contradiction here in regards to Jesus stating the high priest was Abiathar at David's time when the priest in the temple where he ate the show bread was actually Ahimelech?

Has this been dealt with previously? If so, what was the outcome? If not, let us discuss!

I know they were father and son, what tektoniks allude to is that 1. The term "high" priest was never used in the OT 2. The Aramaic term for high can be translated as great or another similar term 3. Abiathar was the priest who stuck with David for 40 odd years and Jesus referred to him instead of his father to prove that the Pharisees were not like Abiathar, as they did not stick with Jesus as Abiathar did with David.
