Shlama amkun

My name is.. well check out my username to find out lol xD

I'm actually quite glad to finally being able to join this wonderful forum because for some reason in the past it was impossible for me to register but alas today i have succes!
I wanted to introduce myself before starting to post here i hope nowone minds?

I myself am Aramaen and very proud of that fact but i only found out recently because i've was adopted as a baby by belgian people (i live in belgium) who clearly spoke no Aramaic or Turkish and they told me my family resided in Turkey before coming here so i assumed i was Turkish, until recently when i had a official conversation with a lady who had my file in the adoption service and she told me my family was part of the minority of Aramaens (called Kildani in Turkey themselves which means Chaldean but they are not Chaldean it's just a name given to them to make them distinct of other Aramaic Christians) in Turkey and so i found out i am actually Aramaen and in the beginning it was a curse because i was used to being "turkish" but now it's such a blessing !! I am learning Aramaic as i write but obiously finding the right tools to do this is hard but i already can read and write in Aramaic but really starting to speak in Aramaic is something else i'm gonna need cd's and books for this i think.. that Biblical texts are without vowels isn't such a big help neither <!-- s:biggrin: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/biggrin.gif" alt="" title="Big Grin" /><!-- s:biggrin: -->

Now i hope you all have a blessed shabbata !!
p.s. here is my first question, in Aramaic do you say "Shlama shabbata" when you want to wish someone a good shabbos ??
