Did you seriously use Google Translate to get the English for this? <!-- s:biggrin: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/biggrin.gif" alt=":biggrin:" title="Big Grin" /><!-- s:biggrin: -->

Paul is it relly important which translator i used? What i wanted to show was the fact, that the CoE had a different creed in the past!
Kind regards

Michael,

Yes, in fact it is critical that you understand what you are posting before you post it. I would need to see the original Aramaic, not the German and not the English from Google Translate. Words have meanings, and those meanings are important when declaring something like you did. A machine-generated (very poor) translation of a translation (German) isn't going to cut it. I'm sorry.

Paul,
i am a German native speaker and understood the text in German very well!
That is really not the problem!
Maybe you have a problem with this old different creed?
Kind regards

Michael,

Despite your kind regards, if you post another comment like that: your account will be deleted, as well as all your posts. Watch your mouth.

If you were a native German speaker, you wouldn't have needed to use Google Translator for the English. I see your English is just fine from all the rest of your posts. I also see that your IP address is from Virgin Media, in the UK. So apparently your English is just fine.

Either post the Aramaic source, or keep your opinion to yourself. I have no idea what this creed is, much less your computer-generated translation of the German text. You've hardly made your point.

All of your posts seem to center around conflict. Consider this your only, and final warning before you are permanently banned.

Shlama Akhi Paul,

I did some research on that quotation, as I was curious about it. So I take a look at the Synodicon Orientale (here) and look for texts refering to year 612. I can read a little of french and aramaic, and on page 564 there is an aramaic text which can be the source of that quotation (french translation here).

I hope this help.

Just a note: users outside USA will need a proxy to access those links on google books.

Kind regards

Hi Paul,
i wonder about your reaction! You said; "All of your posts seem to center around conflict".
For me this is not the case, i am here for an open minded conversation about the Peshitta, if this here is possible!
But you said: "watch your mouth", only because i ask you a question? Isn't that rude?
Kind regards

Shlama Akhi Phil,

The original Aramaic is "We believe in one Kyana Alahaya (Divine Nature)", not as our now-banned friend Michael contented in his Google Translate hack .... "We believe in One Divine Being."

Although there is of course nothing wrong with "We believe in One God", as all Christians believe, there is a problem with how he tried to use this false translation of his to somehow insinuate that we have a different creed now, than in 612.

Of course the creed of 612 states that there are no "parts" to the kyana Alahaya (Divine Nature), it actually goes on to explain the orthodox position of the CoE in regards to Qnuma, which is where we define the concept we have of the "Trinity." It is a treatise on Christology.

These types of falsehoods and purposeful misrepresentations will not be allowed on this forum, especially not by some supposed German in England trying to teach us about our own church history. It is extremely offensive.
