Khabouris Transcription

Jude does not show aramaic. This is because Jude is just one chapter. <!-- sSmile --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smile.gif" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /><!-- sSmile --> (lol)

Shlama:
Jude isn't included in the Khabouris but it is the Harklean Version in the UBS 1920 inclusion of the Western Peshitto.

Stephen

Shlama!

As akhan Stephen already pointed out, the book of Jude is not included in the Khabouris Codex and can therefore not be shown. I have, however, updated the code over at dukhrana.com to provide the user with a more informative message when a verse is not to be found in Khabouris. I guess this approach might be a little more user friendly and hopefully clear up any confusion... :-)

Shlama Akhi Keefa:
I'm inclined to agree with you on ??????????. It's got a diacritic under the YUD. The correction will bring it in line with the UBS 1905 as well as the Crawford Codex. Thanks ever so much.

Shlama,
Stephen

Hi, Lars!

I re-downloaded some files from your site, but I didn't see the change.

Hi Doug!

The MS Word files and the PDF files have not been updated. I have only updated the Khabouris transcription used in the "Peshitta Tool" section of the site. The MS Word and PDF files are still waiting to be updated in one way or another, but I have not gotten to them yet.

Have you guys thought of using a wiki to make changes to it?

Some Orthodox Jews are using the wiki format to make a translation of the Mishneh Torah. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://ronware.org/mtr/Main_Page">http://ronware.org/mtr/Main_Page</a><!-- m -->

With all the guys passionite about the Peshitta here, I don't know why we couldn't use such a system for projects here. Many hands make light work.

And I found these two sites:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki">http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki</a><!-- m -->
this gives you the code, but you need your own hosting, which is good if you have your own site.

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.wikispaces.com/site/signin?goto=/space/create">http://www.wikispaces.com/site/signin?g ... ace/create</a><!-- m -->
this gives you the code and hosting.

I'm just wondering if we'll ever set up a group - a team to do projects.

I'm planning on manually typing out the book of James with eastern vowels, then others could edit it.

And there'd be no copyright, as the Bible shouldn't have a copyright on it.
It belongs to the world.

But if then that opens the possibilities of making a joint translation, which would have a shared copyright.

I don't know if anyone else likes these kinds of ideas.

Just sharing.
