Seder Olam supports a literal Genesis
#1
I've been reading about how, according to Seder Olam, the earth is less than 10,000 years old. Are there Messianic Jews who use this in support of a young earth belief?

Shlama Spyridon,

it is not something i have ever used to prove my stance, as i would take various other routes, more weighty in authoritative nature, to teach about the young earth. but from what i know of the Seder Olam Rabbah, it would help to show at least how young the earth was viewed to be by an old source who ascribed to the validity of the Torah. so in that respect, it would be of a valuable nature.

but i think there are much stronger evidences provided elsewhere that point to a young earth, ie, polonium radiohalos, polystrate fossils, active volcanoes on other planetary bodies, an abundance of cometary material in the solar system, etc..
