Can someone shed some light on translation differences in Luqa 19:17, 19; regarding talents or towns? I noticed that Etheridge and Murdock's translations (PeshittO, I know) translate "thou shalt have rule over ten towns" in verse 17; however, Paul translates "talents" in place of towns. The same holds true for 19:19.
From looking at the Khabouris on dukhrana, it appears that the Aramaic word used for "talents" in Paul's interlinear is different than the Aramaic word used for "towns" in the Khabouris??
Admittedly, I may be totally off base with the idea of two different Aramaic words being used in the verses ... Either way though, I would like to know if there is any idea for the different translations into English for these verses... The words "towns" and "talents" seem to have very different meanings.
Thanks for your time and thoughts!
