me or my manuscript?

hey, i have a not too important question...

on some of the pages of my aramaic manuscripts i have received, i keep finding in different places of the text, what i will call, a "wandering Shin". it's all by itself, and not connected to any word, it's just there, smack dab in the middle of a text. is there anything to it? or is it perhaps something unique to the scripts i have? (which are photocopies of handwritten writings.)

Shlama Yochannon,

I THINK that that's a chapter break, or I had a friend tell me this anyway.

Is this in "The Big Red Hebrew/Syriac Peshitta"?

If so, those are chapter breaks.

And If I'm wrong, someone else here WILL know.

Hope that this helps.

Shlama, Albion

Sh'lema-Shalom Albion,

um, no, it isn't from the "Big Red" that i'm aware, that has khabouris style writing (estrangelo?), correct? this is written in a similar style, though not as squared, much more like handwriting, ya know what i mean??? lol

um, but these Shins appear about 2 or 3 times within a chapter, and sometimes smack in the middle of a verse. i have looked at other manuscripts i have acquired and i haven't found them in those, so i am beginning to wonder if its just those particular manuscript photos i have.

also, awhile ago, i had mentioned and asked about 1st John chapter 5, that in this manuscript it had twenty five verses instead of the usual 21 verses. well after being tired of wondering about it i started researching some lexicons and began to translate it for myself. it turned out that the writer or scribe copying this particular peshitta had "infused" the letter of Jude into the 5th chapter of 1st John, but omitted the first two verses of Jude. i think my photo copied manuscript is broken or sumpin

anyhoo, Todah Rabbah <~~~the Hebrew one
