Prayers requested
#1
Shlama friends,

I had to get a new username because when I got a new computer I tried to import my passwords into it but it didn't work for some reason. Tried to retrieve the password through this site but no luck. Wrote to the only email address I know for Paul to see if he could do something about it but I think it might have gotten lost in the email system.

Anyway, I've been popping in and out here for a while. I've been silent because of a eye problem I developed. When everything started blooming out this spring apparently I got some kind of allergic reaction when pollen got in my eyes. I didn't think too much about it until I woke up one morning and thought my eye balls were going to pop out of the sockets they were swollen so much.

Long story short, one of my worst night mares came true, for about three weeks I had no vision at all but with a lot prayer (thanks be to God) and patience with medical treatment, I now have 80 percent loss of vision in my right eye and about 15 percent in the left and the doctor is hopeful it will get better.

At this point in time I'm just trying to reevaluate where I am and where I'm going but most importantly what Maran wants me to do. I have a lot of pending, unfinished projects: Spanish Peshitta, English translation of Aramaic Tanakh, etc. etc. etc. Too many things to do and little time to do it. I've gone through the whole depressed, why me, feeling sorry for myself thing but I think the Lord is saying "Get up, get moving," but I just don't know. I keep wondering if anyone would even benefit from such projects and if I should just "close up shop", so to speak. Maybe I'm still feeling sorry for myself.

I'm asking for prayers for clear guidance from Maran as to what I should be doing and I apologize for being gone for so long. I feel really bad about being a part of asking for that Old Testament board here and then probably hounding dear Paul about getting it going and then not being here to participate in it. I really am sorry about that.

Albion, I know we talked about those Biblical Hebrew language courses a while back. Not sure what you're up to these days but I apologize and have to say I don't think I'll be much help to you at all now. It's hard enough to type and find the shift key without hitting the caps lock key, let alone teaching Biblical Hebrew. For that I'm sorry.

Shlama Yaaqub,

Welcome back akhi , you were missed indeed!

Sorry to hear about your eye illness, but I'm sure that it's only temporary. Please don't give up on your translation work, we reeeeaalllly need those resources. Take a break till you're in top form again, but pleeeease don't "close up shop"!

What is going on with our poor Peshitta primacist brethren? Everyone is having difficulty completing their work and getting it out. Seems that the enemy is having a "devil of a time" preventing us from getting the truth out to the masses. DON'T let him win this time! He's been at his game for toooooo many centuries and now it's time to fight back! Keep fighting the good fight guys, for the sake of the masses and for the glory of Maran Yeshua.

You'll be in my prayers Ya'aqub,
Christiana.

Dear Ya'aqub,

I too had wondered what had happened to you Brother.

You don't worry about those Hebrew studies, you just good take care of your eyes, and try to get better!

I'll pray for you too, if that would be alright with you?

And when you can get better, if you don't have a Hebrew/English keyboard, I know where you can buy one cheap!

Let me know when you get better, and I'll pass the URL on to you.

I've missed your good heart here, Brother Ya'aqub!

And I'm really glad to see you back!

Shlama in Maran Yeshua, Albion

P.S. Would it be easier for you, if we all used LARGER letters?

I have some diabetic damage to my eyes, and larger letters really HELP ME!

Just wondering......

Shlama all,

Thanks to everyone here for your prayers and kind words. I do appreciate it very much. It means more than I could ever put in words.

Christina - I will certainly take your advice.

Albion - Thanks, a Hebrew/English keyboard might be something I would look into. And no, that's ok about the font size. I just increase the size in my browser with the control + button and make it as big as I need it for the time being. Thanks for thinking about that though but it's not necessary for everyone to do that.

God bless all of you,
Ya'aqub

Thanks for your prayers and thanks for those links. I guess I know what I'll be buying this week. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have 2, one to put in storage in case those prices go up like everything else is.

Shlama Akhi Yaaqub,

I know that grape seed extract has helped quite a few people I know with allergies and allergic reactions. You should look it up. You can get it cheaply these days.
It is also great for heart and arteries as well. Some places combine it with grape skin extract, which enhances the effect. I'm pretty sure you can get it at Wal Mart and GNC or any health food store. We order from Swansonvitamins.com . They also will mail a catalogue of all their products.
You might want to look also for "Ocular Nutrition" for your eyes, or anything equivalent. It will have blueberry, lutein & bilberry extract This ia also a natural herbal product.

Burkta lak w'tehweh khaleem, (Blessings to you and be well)

Dave
