SEVENTEEN More Days Till Mari/P.E.A.C.E. !!
#3
Shlama to you Chuck,

I will answer this if it's okay with everyone else here... <!-- s:biggrin: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/biggrin.gif" alt=":biggrin:" title="Big Grin" /><!-- s:biggrin: -->

"Mari" is an Aramaic word that means "my Master". It is the title given to Messiah when being addressed as a human being. The apostle Thomas, for example, says to the resurrected Master, "Mari w'Alahi" or "My Master and my El (God)." The other Aramaic word that is used this was is Maran (our Master), usually in the narratives of the Gospels or in the Epistles, as in MARAN ATHA in 1 Corinthians 16:22.

As for "PEACE", it is an acrostic, or rather the result of an acrostic, the word spelled out from the first letter of other words, thusly:

Peshitta
English
Aramaic
Critical
Edition

Hope this helps!
