Shlama Rafael,

I want to encourage you.

I've been on this journey (with the exception of about a year and a half 'sabbatical' I took once) since 1988-89.

I only know a wee bit of Hebrew, and if it's transliterated, all the better!

I know a very little Syriac, inspite of doing this for many years now.

I certainly think that it HELPS if one can read and write in Syriac, but if you don't know Syriac, don't let this stop your investigation of the P'shitta and Aramaic Primacy!

The Assyrian Church of the East has three American churches where the liturgy is in English, and I'd think that there must be a COE congregation that speaks Spanish in their liturgy, somewhere in South America.

People here are always helpful and kind, especially to new comers, and I know that you'll find that is true too.

Except for Andrew (Gabriel Roth) isn't green, and he's not near as short or as old as Yoda is, .....I absolutely agree that he's a Master at what he does!!

Welcome to Peshitta.org Forums Rafael. Bueno Noches, and Yeshua's Peace be yours.

Shlama fellow Jedi Knights and Padewan learners...

So, decades of study later, made me into a Muppet you have???

Well, on the other hand, small and green parts notwithstanding, Yoda is a pretty cool guy. And I think what we know about Aramaic woould actually work pretty well in that long time ago, galaxy far, far away. Before you all roll your eyes remember--I didn't bring this up but I'll make something out of it anyway.

For example, take THE FORCE...

There are several possible Aramaic words for the concept that the nice Jewish Mr. Lucas might endorse. For my money though, I'll go with KHAILA, the POWER, as in "kingdom, POWER, glory" in the Slotha d'Maran. KHAILA also manifests as MIRACLES, such as moving swamp-drenched ships through the air with one's mind. One of my favorite references to the FORCE then, is right here:

Men of Israel listen to this: Y'shua of Nazareth was a man accredited by Elohim to you by KHAILA (miracles), wonders and signs, which Elohim did among you through him, as you yourselves know.

Acts 2:22

And, as I try to remember the name of the author of Acts, for some reason he seems to be saying to me:

Use THE FORCE (of Y'shua)
--Luke

And Y'shua says:

"I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done.

Matthew 21:21

AND:

I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

John 14:12

Set you free, the truth it will!

For my ally is the KHAILA, and a powerful ally it is. It surrounds us, and binds us. You must feel the KHAILA around you. Between yourself and the fig tree, the fig tree and the mountain, and even from the mountain to the sea. But beware, for fear, anger, jealousy--these things lead to the Dark Side--where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 19:16-22). So stay on the Path of Life, or suffer the wicked's fate you will.

And BTW, YODA may be from Hebrew YODEA/YADA, which means "to know". Again, not bad for that mensch George Lucas.

Live Long and Prosper (yes I know that's Star Trek but guess what ethnicity Shatner and Nimoy are, or have we learned nothing from Adam Sandler?)
And may the KHAILA of Y'shua be with you

Andrew Gabriel Roth

PS--Our next lesson: The NEO-Testament according to the Matrix. Y'shua, THE ONE, can only stand at the door and knock--but YOU have to go through it.
