Help with translation
#1
Hi,
I am with a non-profit society in Vancouver Canada (http://www.bcarrstudio.citymax.com) which has been working with area street-youth for 18 years, now.
To help raise our community fundraising profile, we are about to film the second of 3 planned short (22 min.) films, this one to be called 'Coming II'.
I need help with the translation of four short phrases into Aramaic. A phonetic spelling would help my actor to get proper pronunciation.
For anyone who can help, I can guarantee screen credit, plus a DVD copy of the completed film. Thanks.
The phrases are:
1) 'Greetings. I am back.'
2) 'I have returned.'
3) 'I am Jesus.'
4) 'I am the Messiah.'
This is a serious request, and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The Brenda Carr Studio Society

Just off the top of my head ....

3) Ana Yeshua (or "Eeshoo")
4) Ana Meshikha

Where all "a" vowels are sounded as in the "a" in "father".

best regards,

Dean

Hello! I would also like help with a translation. I will be getting married soon and I wanted to have wedding bands made with the inscription: "One God to guide them and with this ring bind them". I think it will emphasize the religious meaning of the ceremony and our commitment if the inscription is in Aramaic. Can anyone help me with this? It would be greatly appreciated.

Nwn0 rws0ml 0dh 0tqz9bw Nwn0 rbdml dx 0hl0

"One God to guide them and with this ring bind them."

Just saw this a few minutes ago, or I would have done sooner.

Many blessings to the bride and groom !

Please don't think I'm lazy, I really have been trying to figure this out but it seems so complicated to me. I'm using the Grammar section of this website to figure out what the phrase 'One God to guide them and with this ring bind them' will actually look like. In lesson one there is an alphabetical index, and when I try to use this with the font encoding chart I can't find the letter that corresponds with '9'. I also realized that I wasn't sure whether I should be trying to write this from top left to bottom right (as you showed it above) or bottom right to upper left. I was also wondering which form of aramaic you were using above and if it correlates to the font encoding chart and the alphabetical index.

I will continue to read the lessons and try to become a good student again, but I think I might need a little guidance to get started. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The phrase shown is in Estrangelo font and reads right to left. To see the Aramaic letters you need to go to the Introduction section at the upper left and click on "Fonts". It tells you how to install the fonts for Estrangelo. Also, there is a "keyboard map" that shows what Aramaic letter is assigned to each keyboard character.

Oh thank you! At first I was trying to use the tools to write it out by hand and it looked horrible. Now that I've properly installed the font I can practice by using the typed font as a reference. It makes total sense now (you need a little guy with a light bulb).

This is a great site. You've got good tools and lessons and it helps so much that you have audio so those of us who are new to this don't completely butcher such a beautiful language. I can't thank you all enough!

...back to practice...
