Site for 1905 Syriac Edition
#1
Shlama Akha,

Another site with the files John Marucci has published is Nasrani Peshitta :

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.peshitta.net/peshitta/syriac1905/index.php">http://www.peshitta.net/peshitta/syriac1905/index.php</a><!-- m -->

The whole NT is there in Estrangela with vowels. Looks really good !

Shlama Akhi Dave,

All I saw on that link was the Western Serto script. Am I doing something wrong? I tried changing the encoding and changing to left-to-right format because everything was backwards. Even the forms are off such as double-lamed in the middle of a word as opposed to the proper way at the end of a word, etc., etc.
This Nasrani COE seems to be one and the same as the St. Thomas Christians. If that's true, they're a considerably ancient denomination. <!-- sSmile --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smile.gif" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /><!-- sSmile --> I found a page where thay have three apostolic succession listings beginning with Peter, Andrew and Thomas...interesting that they can trace everything back so well and that they have kept such good records even during periods of persecution! What think ye? <!-- s:bigups: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/bigups.gif" alt=":bigups:" title="Big Ups" /><!-- s:bigups: -->

Shlama Akhi Larry,

Methinks thy scripts are wanting. Dost thou have Estrangela scripts loaded in Windows and is thy browser IE ?

I see everything in a fine Estrangela script.
Is your view set for "web layout" or "normal" in Word.

I find it hard to imagine they would be using Serto for the font. Are you sure its Serto ? Alephs would be a vertical line in Serto.

I suggest that we download the files and sort our fonts out later.

Burktha,
