Daniel 7:14: Serve or worship?
#2
The masoretic text has  יִפְלְח֑וּן
Verb root: פּלח .. of which Brown-Driver-Briggs say "pay reverence to, serve" (deity)
Then they go on to list similar words in other languages, and one of the most interesting is perhaps Palmyrene פלחא meaning soldier.

The etymological dictionaries I looked in do not indicate any connexion with Germanic word plight from PG *pleh.

OT Peshitta manuscript 7a1 doesn't seem to have the second half of verse 14, or for that matter verses 15-20a. Here's my attempt at a transcription:
.ܠܥܬܝܩ ܝܘܡܬܐ …
(v 13) … to old [of] days.
ܘܩܕܡܘܗܝ ܩܪܒܘܗ܁ ܘܠܗ
(v 14) And before him offered, and him
ܝܗܒ ܫܘܠܬܐ ܘܐܢܩܪܐ
gave [the] reign and ????
ܘܡܠܟܘܬܐ. ܘܚܙܘܗ ܪܒ ܡܢ
and kingdom. (v 20) And appearance great from
ܕܚܒܪܬܗ
other one …
