Acts 4:28 how to translate 'rsham'?
#2
distazo -

I'm gonna get in heap big trouble again so get ready.
First, here is Moffatt's translation. Does this help?

1. Acts 4: 28 (Moffatt):

"...mustering to carry out what thy hand had traced, thy purpose had decreed."

2. The Revelation 5 use of "rsham" is a gateway.

Revelation 5: 1 (Moffatt):

"Then I saw, lying on the right hand of him who was seated on the throne, a scroll with writing on the back as well as inside, sealed with seven seals."

If you wanted to start seeing Aramaic Priority in certain passages, you could do a lot worse than start here. This chapter begins the introduction to the "Lamb of God".
"Hey, what's the problem? It's all in Greek, anyway, right? "Lamb" in Greek is "Arnion". No big deal..."

Big Deal.

First, go to 1 Chronicles 24 and see that "Eleazar" gives 16 Priests of his family line to the 24 "Mishmarot Service Groups". That is, of the Priests who serve in the Temple, 16 of the Groups trace their lineage to Eleazar. The first group is "Jehoiarib". The 16th contribution of Eleazar is "Immer".
The Hasmonaeans, an important ruling Dynasty, are of the Jehoiarib Group.

And what of "Immer"?
See Strong's 564, "Immer. (I had a nice display of the words "Immer and "Immar" but got error messages trying to post.)

"Immer" is very close to "Immar".
What is this "Immar"? It's the Aramaic word for "Lamb". See Strong's 563.

There was Heroic Literature thrown up around "Alexander Jannaeus", a Hasmonaean King and High Priest. See, for example, _Dead Sea Scrolls Uncovered_, Eisenman and Wise.
The Service Group "Immer" was on Passover Service on the 4 BCE Passover that saw thousands murdered by Archelaus. They were on duty for the 9 CE Passover as well. You can trace this from "Hannah the prophetess" in Luke 2, looking back 84 years from 8/9 CE to the death of Jannaeus and the ascension of Queen Salome.

A more complete analysis will show that this Heroic Literature was created around the Primacy of the Eleazar Line. The murder of the 3000 during Passover 4 BCE gives meaning to the "Blood of the lamb". The two Groups are therefore linked in the literature.
