What is the Greek meaning of "Christ". What is its history?

It means 'annointed'.
It also exists in classic Greek. (This is what I have heard)
b.t.w. in the Peshitta NT, the word for 'Christ' or 'Christian' occurs 3 times. E.g. when prefect Felix says: "You easily would convert me to become a Christian".
