Matthew 27:47 Lamsa's VS Peshitta.or
#2
Hi,

Simple question, long answer <!-- sSmile --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smile.gif" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /><!-- sSmile -->

for Lamsa's version, I cannot really find a backup (and I don't have his)
However, 'for this I was spared'

and
"why have you spared me?"

are other version.

The reason there are different versions, is because Aramaic, Hebrew and Arabic, (just as most languages) but especially those languages not having vowels, can/could be translated with different meanings.

So:
it -could- be 'why have you forsaken me!'
or
why have you spared me!

It's all possible.
It depends on the dialect, and on the understanding of the translator.

LOTS about this, already has been written on this forum.

I'd say, try to read those first.
