Matthew 6:27
#1
Hi,

This morning in church our pastor preached on "worry" and used as his text Matthew 6:25-34. He brought up a textual variant in Matthew 6:27 that I had previously not realized. I use the uNAS in church, he uses the NIV, but many in the church also use the KJV and NKJV. Here is the verse in various texts.

Matthew 6:27

"And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?" (uNAS)

"Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?" (NIV)

"And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?" (ESV)

"Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?" (KJV)

"Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?" (NKJV)

"And who among you while anxious is able to add to his stature one cubit?"(AENT)

"And who among you while anxious is able to add to his stature one cubit?" (Younan Interlinear)

"And which of you by taking thought can add even a single cubit unto his stature?" (HRV)

How does this play, if at all, with Peshitta Primary?
