I think Victors translation is great!
Not because he gets everything right but because he tries to bring out idiomatic constructions in the text.
Now obviously anyone who tries to do this will make mistakes, and Victor is only human and will do this.
We need 1000 Victors to do this as we have with greek translators. Then we could compare Victors ideas with those of others.
Victor is a film-maker (an artist) and we need "creative" people to help us with the scriptures as well.
But lets not knock him for trying to translate lets look toward the day when all theology schools take the peshitta seriously, as they do with the greek now.
