Capitalization
#1
Matt 2:11 And they entered the house and saw The Boy with Maryam his mother, and they fell and worshiped him and opened their treasures and offered him gifts: gold, myrrh, and frankincense.

"The Boy" are capitalized but "him" is not - why?

Because the translator chose to write it that way.

Shlama rdwray:
There are no capitalizations in Aramaic, Hebrew or Greek, only in English and most languages which use this western alphabet. The King James Version uses "young child" in Matthew 2:11 and the word is uncapitalized. Whatever English translation you are using, the translator has emphasized "boy", probably because He (Jesus) was a very special Boy. It's perfectly alright to use emphasis in this case, in my opinion. Remember though that the original language, which many of us on this forum believe to be Aramaic, was not at all capitalized. I digress, but notice that the child is not a new-born infant. Perhaps this is why Herod had all of the male children up to the age of three slaughtered. Interesting...very interesting!

Kindly,
Stephen
