In the Hebrew Torah we read ziqnei. Can anyone point me to the terms used in the Peshitta for the numerous references to "elders" (in Acts i believe there are about a dozen, and of course Revelation's 24 Elders, etc).

Hi Micah.
Ziknei in Hebrew literally means "beards" as in facial hair, establishing the age of the man. The Aramaic cognate is Diqnei.
The term Qashisha in Aramaic means elder in the same sense, but without the obvious facial hair connotation.

The zayin and daleth letters are often exchanged for one another in Hebrew vs. Aramaic.
