Hello all. Peace of Messiah be with you all.
I was reading through the topic of Messiah in isaiah 53 etc.... and the divisioins of the text of Isaiah got me intrested. And just to inform you all, i first learnt about such a thing from THIS forum , and boy was i glad when i found out about it.
I saw that the Aramaic Torah aswellas the Khaburis have this type of divisions [instead of what we in the werst are acustomed to, Chapter numbers, i.e. 1 , 2, 3 etc...]. It appears that the Aramaic divides it either with 1 diamd shape, for a minor change OR a 2 dimand shape, for a major topic change. [please correct me if i am wrong]
So this got me thinking. Could such an ancient division be incoprated in todays Bibles? Perhaps even in the Aramaic Bibles, [such as those of you who are doing translations].
I have found that looking at divisions make a Big difference in the way i read and understand the Bible personally, as the divisions become the guide for the beginning and ending of a certain topic.
I am Just interested in all your thaughts. is it a Good idea, or bad idea?
Has anyone tried reading using the ancient diviions rather than the modern chapter divisions, and if it has made a difference to your reading?
[if u havent tried it, do try it. >>> this is how enlightened i was ]
Will anyone who is doing a translation perhaps 'think' about incorperating this type of division with the modern numbering system for easyer refference?
Blessings of Messiah be with you all. Amen.
